HardTruthGH has spotted a female carpenter who earns more than 95% of graduates in Ghana. The female carpenter in a month earns nothing less than GHS8000.
Talking to Araba, she said, she went into this carpentry trade as something she will never forget. According to her, it wasn’t something she liked but didn’t have an option. The parents weren’t having money to get her into the tertiary after her secondary school.
So the dad asked that she learn a trade till they’re able to raise some money to help in furthering her education. But money to even pay for the seamstress and machine was a problem. It was Uncle Ato, a family friend and a carpenter, who offered to help. It was a tough decision to accept but as she said, she had no option.
It’s 4 years now since she went into the trade and the of improvement hse’s had in life is mind-blowing. She continues to encourage ladies, not to follow the crowd, but sometimes try and follow the directions their parent want for them.
