The recently launched 2020 manifesto of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is to make all current Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) trainees permanent to pave the way to recruit another 100,000 graduates for a 3-year contract.
It was a big disappointment for the NABCO community when the NPP manifesto was launched, as what they all expected was for the NPP government to address their petition of seeking to be made permanent after their to-end-soon 3 years contract. But nothing of that sort was heard.
A one-on-one conversation with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NABCO, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars indicated that, they chose not to include that in the manifesto, even though it is something that’s going to happen soon.
According to Dr. Anyars, 2016 manifesto addressed the issues of job provision, so because of that they didn’t want to have any kind repetition in this year’s manifesto. Hence, plans to make current NABCO trainees permanent workers are in process. He encouraged trainees to hold on as good days are ahead.
